662. Right to privacy and family life and the protection and control of personal data.

The EU Charter provides that everyone has the right to respect for his or her private and family life, home and communications1, and that the right to marry and found a family is guaranteed in accordance with the national laws governing the exercise of such right2. These correspond to the right to respect for private and family life, home and correspondence and the right to marry and found a family guaranteed under the European Convention on Human Rights3, and must be interpreted in accordance with the European Court of Human Rights' jurisprudence on those matters
