421. Right to found a family.

The right to respect for the decision to become or not to become a parent is protected by Article 81, even though the right to respect for family life does not itself include the right to create a family2. Involuntary sterilisation violates Article 83. Restrictions on access to IVF treatment may interfere with Article 8 rights4, although the European Court of Human Rights has accorded contracting states a wide margin of appreciation in this area
