440. Right to choose a religion and right to proselytise.

In addition to protecting the right to worship and the teaching, practice and observance religious beliefs, Article 91 also encompasses the right to choose a religion and to choose between systems of religious belief: thus while no person can be required to think, believe or follow a particular religion, the protection afforded by Article 9 has been held to include the right to convince others of the validity of their religion and to proselytise
