663. Freedom of thought, conscience and religion.

The EU Charter provides that everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion, and that this right includes freedom to change religion or belief and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or in private, to manifest religion or belief in worship, teaching, practice and observance1. This corresponds to the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion guaranteed under the European Convention on Human Rights2, and must be interpreted in accordance with the European Court of Human Rights' jurisprudence on the matter
