664. Freedom of expression and information.

The EU Charter provides that everyone has the right to freedom of expression, and that this right includes freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart information and ideas without interference by public authority and regardless of frontiers1. This corresponds to the right to freedom of expression guaranteed under the European Convention on Human Rights2, and must be interpreted in accordance with the European Court of Human Rights' jurisprudence on the matter
