536. Register of persons eligible to act as independent trustees.

The Pensions Regulator1 has the power to appoint independent trustees2. Regulations must provide for the Regulator to compile and maintain a register of persons ('the trustee register')3 who satisfy the prescribed conditions4 for registration5. The duty to compile and maintain a register of persons who satisfy the prescribed conditions to act as independent trustees is a prescribed function but only in so far as the duty relates to (1) refusing to register an applicant in the trustee register
