246. Power of trustees to modify schemes by resolution.

The trustees of a trust scheme1 may by resolution modify2 the scheme with a view to achieving any of the following purposes3:

  1.  

    (1)     to extend the class of persons who may receive benefits under the scheme in respect of the death of a member4 of the scheme5;

  2.  

    (2)     to enable the scheme to conform with specified arrangements in respect of member-nominated trustees6;

  3.  

    (3)     to enable the scheme to comply with such terms and conditions as may be imposed by the Board of the Pension Protection Fund7 in relation to any fraud compensation payment8 made by them9;
