287. Effect of bankruptcy on pension rights: approved arrangements.

Where a bankruptcy order is made against a person on a bankruptcy application made or petition presented after the coming into force of these provisions1, any rights of his under an approved pension arrangement2 are excluded from his estate3. For these purposes, 'approved pension arrangement' means (1) a registered pension scheme4; (2) an occupational pension scheme5 set up by a government outside the United Kingdom for the benefit, or primarily for the benefit, of its employees6; (3) an annuity purchased for the purpose of giving effect to rights under a scheme falling within head (1)7; (4) any pension arrangements
