An application may be made to the Pensions Regulator1 for the issue of a clearance statement2 in relation to circumstances described in the application3. A clearance statement is a statement, made by the Regulator, that in its opinion in the circumstances described in the application: (1) the applicant would not be4 a party to an act or a deliberate failure to act5; (2) it would not be reasonable to impose any liability on the applicant under a contribution notice6; or (3) such requirements7 as may be prescribed8 would not be satisfied in relation to the applicant9.
