598. The UK Intellectual Property Office.

The issuing of patents in the United Kingdom is the responsibility of the UK Intellectual Property Office (an operating name of the Patent Office), which is under the immediate control of the comptroller1. The Office has a seal, impressions of which are judicially noticed and are to be admitted in evidence2. The comptroller may give directions specifying the hour at which the office is taken to be closed, and the days which are excluded days, for the purposes of the public transaction of business3.
