The registrar must maintain the register of designs1, in which must be entered:
(1) the names and addresses of proprietors2 of registered designs (including international registered designs)3;
(2) notices of assignments4 and of transmissions of registered designs; and
(3) such other matters as may be prescribed or as the registrar may think fit5.
The public has a right6 to inspect the register at the UK Intellectual Property Office7 at all convenient times8, but the register need not be kept in documentary form9.
