452. Exclusions from patentability.

Anything which consists of the following is declared not to be an 'invention' (and therefore not patentable) for the purposes of the Patents Act 1977 and the European Patent Convention1:

  1.  

    (1)     a discovery, scientific theory or mathematical method2;

  2.  

    (2)     an aesthetic creation3;

  3.  

    (3)     a scheme, rule or method for performing a mental act
