In any proceedings before him under the Registered Designs Act 1949 the registrar1 may by order award to any party such costs as he may consider reasonable, and direct how and by what parties they are to be paid2. Any such order of the registrar may be enforced in the same way as an order of the High Court3.
Until IP completion day4 the registrar may require a person to give security for the costs of any application for invalidation of the registration of a design or appeal from any decision of the registrar under the Registered Designs Act 19495
