736. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority.

The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority ('IPSA')1 is responsible for determining members' pay and setting the level of any increase in their salary2. It is also responsible for the oversight of the MPs' pension scheme3.

The IPSA may do anything (except borrow money) which is calculated to facilitate the carrying out of its functions or is incidental or conducive to the carrying out of those functions4.
