The House of Commons Commission appoints staff in the House Departments and determines conditions of service1. The Commission must ensure that the conditions of service of staff in the House Departments are kept broadly in line with those in the statutory home civil service2, and that the pensions and other similar staff benefits are kept in line with those under the principal Civil Service Pension Scheme (as it applies for the time being to the statutory home civil service3.
