664.     The Clerk Assistant and the Reading Clerk.

The Clerk Assistant and the Reading Clerk are nominated and appointed by the Lord Speaker1, subject to the approval of the House of Lords, and when so appointed and approved they can be removed from office only by order of the House of Lords2.
