The Parliamentary Standards Act 2009 created a Speaker's Committee for the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority1, which has the function of considering the candidates proposed by the Speaker, following fair and open competition, for the posts of Chair and membership of the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority ('IPSA')2 and approves the IPSA's annual estimate of resources3.
