On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays members of the House of Commons are called upon to address questions1 of which they have given written notice2 either to ministers with regard to matters connected with the government administration, or to members with regard to matters connected with the business of the House for which they are responsible3.
No questions may be taken more than one hour after the House sits, except questions which have not appeared on the order paper but which are in the Speaker's opinion of an urgent character and relate either to matters of public importance or to
