The Office of Speaker's Counsel gives legal advice to the Speaker of the House of Commons1, the Clerk and all the departments of the House of Commons. The Office is headed by Speaker's Counsel2 who with a Principal Assistant Counsel, Assistant Counsel and Legal Assistant and Office Manager, provide general legal advice. It also comprises a Counsel for Domestic Legislation who with three Deputy Counsel advise on domestic legislation, and a Counsel for European Legislation and Deputy Counsel who advise on European legislation.
