755.     Deputy Chairmen of Ways and Means.

At the commencement of every Parliament, or from time to time, as necessity may arise, the House of Commons may choose two deputy chairmen of Ways and Means, known respectively as the first and the second Deputy Chairman of Ways and Means, in a way which ensures party and gender balance. They are entitled to exercise all the powers vested in the Chairman of Ways and Means1, including his powers as Deputy Speaker2.
