803. Committee of Public Accounts.

In compliance with a standing order of the House of Commons, the Committee of Public Accounts is appointed for the examination of the accounts showing the appropriation of the sums granted by Parliament to meet the public expenditure and of such other accounts laid before Parliament as the committee may think fit1. The committee has power to send for persons, papers and records, to report from time to time during the session and to adjourn from place to place2.

Meetings of the committee are attended by the Comptroller and Auditor General3, whose reports regarding the applications and appropriations of parliamentary
