850.     Charges upon the Consolidated Fund.

The principal charges upon the Consolidated Fund1 are:

(1)     Supply Services, which are payments issued to government departments to finance their net expenditure2;

(2)     Standing Services, which are charges exempt from any need to be voted annually by Parliament because it has, by statute, permanently authorised the payments3;

(3)     Standing Service payments for political and public salaries and pensions4;

(4)     issues to the Contingencies Fund5; and

(5)     balancing payments to the National Loans Fund when daily receipts into the Consolidated Fund exceed its payments
