Where a wetland1 in Great Britain has been designated under the Ramsar Convention2 for inclusion in the list of wetlands of international importance, the Secretary of State or the Welsh Ministers3 must:
(1) notify Natural England4 if all or part of the wetland is in England5;
(2) notify the Natural Resources Body for Wales6 if it is in Wales7; or
(3) notify both of them if it is partly in England and partly in Wales8.
On receipt of a notification, each body notified must, in turn, notify:
(a) the local planning authority9 in whose area the wetland is situated10;
