435. Wardens.

A local authority1 may appoint such number of persons as may appear to it to be necessary or expedient to act as wardens as respects any land or waterway2 in relation to which byelaws made by the authority are in force3 or in relation to which the authority has power to make such byelaws4. The purposes for which wardens may be appointed are:

  1.  

    (1)     to secure compliance with any byelaws, provisions relating to litter5 and requirements imposed by provisions relating to commons and waste land6;

  2.  

    (2)     to advise and assist the public7; and

  3.  

    (3)     to perform such duties in
