546. Sustainable management of natural resources in Wales.

Provision is made1 for the promotion of sustainable management of natural resources in Wales2.

'Natural resources' includes, but is not limited to:

  1.  

    (1)     animals, plants and other organisms;

  2.  

    (2)     air, water and soil;

  3.  

    (3)     minerals;

  4.  

    (4)     geological features and processes;

  5.  

    (5)     physiographical features; and

  6.  

    (6)     climatic features and processes3.

'Sustainable management of natural resources' means:

  1.  

    (a)     using natural resources in a way and at a rate that promotes the achievement of the objective of maintaining and enhancing the resilience of ecosystems and the benefits they provide and, in so doing, meeting the needs of present generations of people without compromising the
