If the appropriate conservation body1 is satisfied that it is expedient in the national interest that any land2 should be managed as a nature reserve3 and that the appropriate conservation body is unable to conclude an agreement on terms appearing to it to be reasonable4 with the owner5, lessee or occupier of the land containing such terms as in its opinion are required for securing that it would be satisfactorily managed for that purpose, the appropriate conservation body may acquire the land compulsorily6.
