Payment becomes due when the amount of compensation1 has been agreed or has been determined, and bears interest2 from the date on which the relevant order3 came into operation to the date upon which payment is made4.
However, at any time after giving notice of a claim a claimant may apply to the local planning authority5 for a payment on account on the ground of special circumstances, and, if satisfied that special circumstances exist, the authority may make a payment on account of such amount as it may determine
