496. Licences.

The provisions restricting the picking, uprooting and destruction of wild plants1 do not apply to anything done under and in accordance with the terms of a licence2 granted by the relevant conservation body3 for:

(1)     scientific or educational purposes4;

(2)     the purpose of ringing or marking, or examining any ring or mark on, wild animals5;

(3)     the purpose of conserving wild animals or wild plants or introducing them to particular areas6;

(4)     the purpose of protecting any zoological or botanical collection7; or

(5)     the purpose of photography8,

nor do those provisions apply to anything done under and in accordance with the terms of a licence
