Provision is made for the enforcement of Part I of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 19811.
A wildlife inspector has power to enter and inspect premises, examine specimens and take samples2; and a constable has power to stop and search a person whom he suspects with reasonable cause to be committing or to have committed an offence under Part I, to search or examine anything that person is using and to seize or detain anything which may be evidence of the commission of the offence, as well as powers of entry and a power to take samples
