Where an application for a farm capital grant1 is made as respects expenditure incurred or to be incurred for the purposes of activities on land which is in a national park2 or an area specified for this purpose, the appropriate minister3 must, so far as consistent with the purpose of the grant provisions4, so exercise his functions as to further the conservation and enhancement of the natural beauty5 and amenity of the countryside and to promote its enjoyment by the public6.
