525. Conservation status of habitats and species.

The appropriate authority1, must make arrangements2 for the surveillance of the conservation status of natural habitats of European Community interest and species of Community interest, and in particular priority natural habitat types and priority species3.

In respect of the arrangements made by the Secretary of State, the Secretary of State must, from time to time:


    (1)     consult the devolved administrations4;


    (2)     provide the devolved administrations with such information as he considers appropriate that has been derived from the surveillance arranged by him5; and


    (3)     review the arrangements he has made and, if he thinks it appropriate, revise those arrangements6.
