434. Byelaws for lakes.

A local planning authority1 whose area consists of or includes the whole or any part of a national park2 may make byelaws for the prohibition or restriction of traffic of any description on any lake in the park3. The power is exercisable for the purposes of:

  1.  

    (1)     ensuring the safety of persons resorting to the lake4;

  2.  

    (2)     regulating all forms of sport or recreation involving the use of boats or vessels5;

  3.  

    (3)     conserving the amenity and natural beauty of any such lake and the surrounding area6; and

  4.  

    (4)     preventing nuisances or damage, particularly from excessive noise7.
