423. Acquisition of land in a national park.

Where satisfied that it is expedient to do so the Secretary of State or the Welsh Ministers1 may acquire by agreement any land2 forming part of a national park by means of purchase, lease or exchange3. Unless in any particular case the Secretary of State determines or the Welsh Ministers determine otherwise, that land must be transferred to such other persons upon such trusts and subject to such conditions as appear expedient for ensuring that it is managed in such a way as to conserve and enhance its natural beauty
