1015.     World Heritage Sites.

The purpose of the UNESCO Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage1 is to establish an effective system of collective protection of the cultural and natural heritage of outstanding universal value, organised on a permanent basis and in accordance with modern scientific methods2.

For the purposes of the convention, the following are considered as 'cultural heritage':
