The Crafts Council is the national organisation promoting contemporary crafts in the United Kingdom1. The council is funded by Arts Council England and also receives grants from the Creative Scotland and Arts Council of Wales2. Formed in 1971 as the Crafts Advisory Committee, it became known as the Crafts Council in 1979 and was incorporated by royal charter in 19823.
