The Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council is a Council of UKRI1.
The Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council was established by royal charter in 1994 by the incorporation of the former Agricultural and Food Research Council2 with certain relevant research programmes of the former Science and Engineering Research Council3. The council is a research council for purposes of the Science and Technology Act 19654. The objects of the council are:
