1034. Termination of guardianship of monuments.

Where the Secretary of State1, the Welsh Ministers2, the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission for England ('the Commission')3 or a local authority4 has become guardian of any monument5, they may by agreement6 made with the persons who are for the time being immediately affected by the operation of the guardianship deed7, exclude any part of the monument from guardianship8 or renounce guardianship of the monument9; but except as provided above, the monument remains under guardianship, unless it is acquired by its guardians, until an occupier of the monument who is entitled to terminate the guardianship
