Abstract: The necessary domestic legislation is introduced to allow the UK to ratify the 154 Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict, and to accede to its two protocols. In addition to this, and among other things, an offence to protect cultural property in the event of armed conflict, as defined in the Convention, is created, as is one to deal in illegally-exported cultural property.
