853.     General powers of Board of Trustees of the National Maritime Museum.

The Board of Trustees of the National Maritime Museum1 has the general management and control of the museum2 and for that purpose may make such regulations as it thinks necessary for securing the due administration of the museum and preserving the objects collected in it, including regulations requiring payment to be made for admission to the museum3.

The board may expend any money available for the purpose4 in the purchase of any object which in the board's opinion it is desirable to acquire for the museum5.
