The export of cultural goods2 outside the customs territory of the EU is subject to the presentation of an export licence3. The export licence is valid throughout the EU4. The direct export from the customs territory of the EU of national treasures having artistic, historic or archaeological value which are not cultural goods is subject to the national law of the member state of export5.
