There is a director general of the Imperial War Museum1 and a curator of the Imperial War Museum who are appointed by the Board of Trustees2 with the approval of the Prime Minister3, and who hold office on such terms and conditions as the board may determine subject to such conditions as the Secretary of State4 may impose with the consent of the Treasury5. Subject to the board's directions, the director general is responsible generally for the museum's management, and the curator is charged with the care of the museum and the objects collected there, subject to the director
