The Imperial War Museum1 was established by statute in 19202. For the purpose of managing the museum, and for the other purposes of the Imperial War Museum Act 1920, a board of trustees is established, which is a body corporate3 (by the name of the 'Trustees of the Imperial War Museum') with perpetual succession and a common seal4. The powers of the board may be exercised notwithstanding any vacancy in its number
