534.     Procedure for mortgage claims is governed by Civil Procedure Rules.

Most legal proceedings falling within the scope of this title are governed by the general procedural code set out in the Civil Procedure Rules1. The only types of mortgage claim which are subject to specific procedural rules are possession claims2 by a mortgagee3 and claims to enforce charging orders by sale4. All other mortgage claims are brought under the Part 8 alternative procedure5, as appropriately modified6.
