663. Personal representatives and trustees as parties to redemption proceedings.

On the death of a mortgagee of freehold or leasehold land, his personal representatives are necessary parties to proceedings for redemption1. Where the equity of redemption2 is settled, the tenant for life in whom the legal estate is vested will be the proper party to represent the settled land; in other cases of land held on trust, the beneficiaries are sufficiently represented by trustees, executors or administrators, but the court may direct beneficiaries to be added at any stage of the proceedings
