676. Order for sale.

Any person entitled to redeem1 mortgaged property may have a judgment or order for sale instead of for redemption2 in proceedings brought by him either for redemption alone, or for sale alone, or for sale or redemption in the alternative3. In proceedings brought by a person interested in the right of redemption and seeking a sale, on the application of any defendant the court may direct the claimant to give security for costs, and may give the conduct of the sale to any defendant, and may give directions as to the costs of any defendant
