230.     Extent of property charged by deposit of title deeds.

The charge created by a deposit of the title deeds included all the property comprised in the deeds1, and extended to every estate and interest in the property possessed by the depositor at the time of the deposit, every interest which he afterward acquired2 and all incidental rights, such as the goodwill of a business carried on upon the premises3. Apart from statutory power, a limited owner4 could charge only his own equitable interest by a deposit, but oral evidence of the
