The effect of the statutory protection to purchasers from irregularity in sale1 is that the purchaser is exempted from any duty to make inquiries; and, provided that he has no notice of any irregularity, he is protected notwithstanding that an event giving rise to the power of sale has not occurred, and even though at the time of the sale the mortgage has been paid off2.
