498.     Delay of redemption through loss of title deeds.

Interest will cease to run at the date when the mortgagor is ready to redeem if redemption is delayed through the loss of the title deeds1. The mortgagor cannot be sued for the debt if there is a danger of his not getting back his title deeds on payment2, but it is otherwise if the deeds are in fact lost3.
