A counterpart of every lease1 of mortgaged land must be executed by the lessee2 and delivered to the lessor3. If the lease is made by the mortgagor4, then within one month after making the lease, he must deliver to the mortgagee5 or, where there are more than one, to the mortgagee first in priority, a counterpart of the lease duly executed by the lessee, but the lessee is not concerned to see that this statutory provision is complied with6.
