707. Compulsory acquisition of mortgaged land.

Where land which is to be acquired compulsorily is subject to a mortgage, the undertakers or acquiring authority may purchase or redeem the mortgagee's interest in the land, whether or not they have previously purchased the equity of redemption1, or the mortgagee is a trustee, or he is in possession of the land, or the mortgage includes other land in addition to that to be acquired
